Courses

1. Slovenian for Beginners

The Beginner Slovenian Language Course is ideal for those who have never learned Slovenian or only know a few words. It covers everyday topics at the A1 level, helping you master the basics.

You’ll overcome your initial learning apprehension and begin communicating in Slovenian.

At the end of our beginner Slovenian course, you’ll be able to make simple purchases, name the day, time, and date, talk about your hometown, yourself, and your acquaintances, and also ask others about these topics. You’ll know how to say thank you and apologize, describe simple situations, fill in forms using your personal information, and write short and simple messages.

2. Advanced Slovenian Language Courses

Rapidly improve your Slovenian with the help of our curriculum and experienced language teachers.

Our advanced Slovenian language courses will prepare you for the Basic Level Slovenian Language Exam (A2–B1), required for Slovenian citizenship, as well as for the Intermediate Level (B2) and Advanced Level (C1) exams.

In-Person and Remote Classes

Choose the learning method that suits you best:

  • In person at Lingula’s state-of-the-art classrooms
  • Remotely

Inspiring Teachers

Much like going to the gym, great outcomes depend on learner effort and the coach’s (or teacher’s) ability to inspire and motivate.

If they only focus on class attendance, they are unlikely to help learners make much progress. Our teachers know when to push you harder and when you need extra motivation, helping you learn quickly and effectively.

Concluding a Course

  • Final written and oral exams crown the course.
  • Completing the course earns you a certificate.
  • If your level is high enough, you can take an official Slovenian language exam.

The Slovenian Language Exams

The courses prepare you for the official Slovenian language exams. By passing the exam, you are awarded an official Slovenian as a second/foreign language certificate, which is a precondition for various purposes, for example, obtaining Slovenian citizenship or a work permit or enrolling in a Slovenian university or college.

The exams are offered at different levels:

  • Breakthrough Level (A1): For example, third-country nationals (from countries such as the US, Canada, Australia, Russia, China, India, and others) registered as unemployed with the Employment Service of Slovenia must take the “Breakthrough” A1 exam.
  • Basic (A2–B1) Level: Upon passing the A2–B1 exam, you can apply for Slovenian citizenship or a permanent residence permit.
  • Intermediate (B2) Level: The B2 exam certifies your ability to discuss a wide range of topics, produce clear and detailed texts, articulate viewpoints accurately, and communicate effectively with minimal errors that do not lead to misunderstandings.
  • Advanced Level (C1–C2 per CEFR): Achieving the C1 level demonstrates your proficiency in effectively and persuasively communicating in most situations, speaking fluently and naturally, and expressing yourself accurately both orally and in writing.
